Anglee Antoinette Phillips was born on October 12, 1951 to Carol Ann Stokes and Thomas Brown Sr.  She departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

Anglee, aka Angie,” always put her loved ones first. She was a very unselfish person who put the needs and wants of others before her own; not only was she the glue that held our family together, she was also our backbone, our motivator, and our protector. She enjoyed helping and guiding others. Anglee had a passion for cooking and bringing people together. She was the go-to person in her neighborhood and everyone’s favorite Auntie.  Ms. Anglee was a very strong hearted person. It’s an honor to even have known her.  Her legacy will live on. “Ms. Red,” as we called her, is watching over us all so we have to make her proud.  Our sister wore many hats and was highly intelligent, not to mention her refreshing natural and radiant beauty.

Anglee leaves to cherish her memory, her grandmother, Rose Lee McCollough; children: Jonathan (Morekittia) Parahams Jr., Elizabeth Washington, Tameka Washington, Theroe Washington, Ashaunti Washington, Seven Bethel, and Damon Bethel; grandchildren: Areryaunna (Aljama), Denzell, Shawntrion, Micahyah, Da`Finest, Jasoniyah, Asiahn, Je`ana; siblings: Stephanie Phillips,; Miss Tieesha Seville Brown, Ms. Donna Brown, Kim Brown, Anthony Braylock, and Christopher Brown; nieces: Jacqueses Chante‑Patterson, De`javu Zhane` Maineir, Lova` D’onna Maineir, La`Stave Brown, Diamon Brown, and La`juana Brown; nephews: Sir Antwion Brown Sr., Antonio Patterson Sr., Damon Brown, Michael Brown, J`wan Brown, Jermike Brown, and Dominque Brown; great- grandnephews: Sir Antwion Brown Jr., Saphear Lawan Brown, Sivon Won Brown, Sirius Dawion Brown, Lamar, and Nadir.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Carol Stokes; father, Tom Brown Sr.; sister, Ejwana Brown; brother, Thomas Brown Jr.; granddaughter, Chyna Williams; and great-grandson, Arereon Johnson.

I'm so blessed to have had the chance to meet you. In a short amount of time you taught me so much and how I could be a better woman. You became one of my best friends and I'm so happy that I have Denzell apart of my life so I will always have a part of you with me. You brought me into your home, you treated me like your own, you was my granny too. I wish I had more time with you but I know we'll cross paths again. I love you Angelee. See you soon beautiful.
