Lela Faye Wallace, 68, of Arrowhead Circle, South Bend, Indiana, passed July 31, 2017. 

Lela was born January 25, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana, to Mack and Willa Mae (McCowan) Wallace who both preceded her in death along with two sisters, Gwendolyn Lewis and Patricia Mitchell; one brother, Jerry Jenkins; and a grandson, Cordell Mahone Jr.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School and retired from McCormick & Co., as a machinist after serving 27 years. Her passions were singing, talking and her grandchildren. She formerly sang with the Stars of Faith. She was a member of Power in Praise Crusade Ministries.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include, three daughters: Felicia (Melvin Richardson) Wallace, Lucretia Marsh and Natasha (Johnny) Butler; three sons: Donald (Fontella) Smith III, Cordell Mahone and James Marsh; 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Debra Jenkins and Maxine Daniels; two brothers: Sherman Wallace and Johnny Jenkins; along with a host to other friends and relatives.


Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Power in Praise Crusade Ministries, 610 North Logan Street, Mishawaka, IN., 46545.
