Maria (Angeles) Witt, was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. Born on March 30, 1933, in San José Province, San José, Costa Rica, Maria carried the vibrancy and warmth of her homeland in her heart, sharing it generously with those around her. After moving to South Bend, Indiana in October of 1956, she established a life filled with love, devotion, and service. Maria's journey of 90 years, graced with resilience, warmth, and an unwavering spirit, concluded peacefully on April 11, 2024.

Maria's work as a secretary at St. Joseph Regional Medical Hospital was a testament to her dedication to service and her unwavering commitment to others' well-being. Maria's garden was a reflection of her soul - colorful, vibrant, and full of life. Her green thumb was legendary, her joy in the simple act of nurturing life evident in the blooms that graced her home in South Bend, Indiana. A former member of Holy Cross, Maria's faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and infusing her spirit with a quiet, inner strength.

Maria leaves behind a beautiful legacy in those who survive her: her sons Allen Witt and Anthony (Sang Ren) Witt; her sister Cecilia Jarrett of San Jose; her grandson Mark Jr. Of Tennessee and her granddaughter Cherelle Woodmore of Indianapolis, IN. Her memory will also be cherished by her two great-grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Mildred Jarrett; her beloved husband, Anthony Sr., to whom she was married on November 26, 1959, until his passing on May 24, 2009; and her daughters, Monica and Lisa Witt.
