Anderson Peat Jr.

Anderson Peat Jr. was born on July 1, 1955 to the late Anderson and Juanita (Hardin) Peat(e) Sr. in Brownsville, Tennessee and lived in South Bend, Indiana for more than 40 years. Both parents preceded him in death.

Anderson Peat, affectionately known as “June Bug”, “June” or “Peate”, came to South Bend as a teenager and graduated from Washington High School on June 2, 1974. It was at Washington High School where he met the love of his life Carmela (Evans) Peat. A then young Anderson serenaded his soon to be love on the very same steps of the house that they shared, on the Westside, up until his passing. The couple married on July 3, 1976. After graduating from Washington High School, Anderson joined the military where he served more than six years, with honor, in the Army Reserve until May 1, 1983.

Anderson accepted Christ as his savior and was baptized by his brother-in-law Carl Evans at Ardmore LaSalle Church of Christ in South Bend, Indiana. Anderson, a proud member of the United Steelworkers of America, began his manufacturing career at AlliedSignal (South Bend, Indiana) and continued to work in that same field until he retired. Anderson deeply loved his wife, was extremely proud of his children and enjoyed laughing and joking with his kin.   　

Anderson leave to cherish his memory his wife, Carmela (Evans) Peat of 41 years; his daughter Cherri A. Peate, South Bend, Indiana; and his son Jason E. Peate, Indianapolis, Indiana; his siblings: James (Carol) Peat, Indianapolis, Indiana, Ada Marie (Donald) Woodard, Charlene (Kenneth) Scott, Patricia (Stephan) Andrews, Chicago, Illinois, Larry Peate, Jackson, Tennessee, David Taylor, Joey Peate; and Valarie Harris, Mansfield, Ohio. He also leaves his beloved nieces, nephews--whom he treated as though they were his children--his cousins, friends and co-workers.

Anderson touched the lives of many, was deeply loved and will truly be missed...
