Arletha Lee Gilmore, 54, passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Mishawaka, Indiana, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Arletha was born on September 3, 1962 in South Bend Indiana, to William and Lenora Lee. She graduated Riley High School and devoted her life to a career in the hospitality industry.
Arletha fell in love with the love of her life (Chester Gilmore) 38 years ago. On July 3,1997, they came together as one with their hands in marriage. Arletha was a devoted loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and truly an amazing friend. Arletha showed love to everyone she came into contact with, her bright smile and laugh would prove to be she was just as beautiful inside and out. She had a strong passion for music, and always a positive outlook on life. Arletha's life was dedicated to her family and friends. She will always be forever remembered and eternally missed.
Arletha was preceded in death by her parents, William & Lenora Lee; her biological mother, Erma Fultz; one son, Chester C. Gilmore III; a sister, Shauntae Harris; a brother, Jason Steward; and a sister-in-law, Deborah Lynn Williams.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include three sons: Kinyon (Lisa Meservey) Lee, Christopher (Cynthia Turner) Gilmore and Jordan (Chanze Smith) Gilmore, all of South Bend, Indiana; a stepdaughter, Dicel Nicole Sherry Lynn Ith-Gilmore of Danbury, Connecticut; and 11 beautiful grandchildren. Four sisters: Kimberly Harris and Adale Harris, both residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Denise Fultz of Goshen, Indiana, and Nancy Ivory of South Bend, Indiana. Two brothers: Lester Jr. (Cindy) Martin of Mishawaka, Indiana and Joseph Harris of South Bend; along with her mother-in-law Effie Rodgers; and several other relatives and friends.
