Mrs. Doloris A. (Willis) Lacey, a resident of Raintree Street, Osceola, Indiana, departed from this life at the age of 70 years. Doloris was born on September 16, 1946, to the union of Jesse and Evelyn (Rhine) Willis.
She attended Wendell Phillips School in Chicago, Illinois. On June 4, 1974, in South Bend, she and Terry Lacey were married. After 28 years of service, she retired from the Raco Corporation. Mrs. Lacey was a member of Eternal Life Church under Pastor George Brown where she was a member of the Mothers Board. She did not like attention so she always did things behind the scenes. She was always mailing cards, buying items for the needy, giving words of encouragement, and either praying with you or for you.
Loving family members who survive include her husband, Terry; two daughters: Shataunia Lumkins - Harris of South Bend, Indiana, and Nakia Lacey of Osceola, Indiana; one son, Darnell “Louie” (Crystal) Foster of South Bend, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Brandee Fisher - Barbour, Khendra (Anthwann) Ford, Danyel Fuller, Darshay Foster, Nachelle (DeCarlo) Redding, Paris Lipsey, Darius Lipsey, Daijah Foster, Dearrick (Najwa) Gandy, and Warren Taylor; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Johnson of New Madrid, Mississippi; special nieces: Denita Stanford of Champagne, Illinois, and DeAunna Stanford of New Madrid, Mississippi; and dear friends: Mary Ann McCauley, and Joseph and Becky Ward, South Bend, Indiana, and Pat Pryor of Newbern, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Evelyn Willis; a great-grandson, DaiDreon Barbour; and two brothers, Doyle Eugene Willis and John Willis.
