Don O'Neal Smith

We lay to rest Don O'Neal Smith, age 29, of Elkhart, IN., and South Bend, IN., who passed away Thursday, April 9th, 2015 from a tragic incident.

Don was born on April 5, 1986 to Debra Newell and Don Smith in Elkhart, IN. He was employed at Heartland RV as a welder.

Don loved spending time with his family and friends and there was nothing he wouldn't do for anyone. Don was the most generous, kindhearted and caring person you could meet. He had a passion for fixing things, broke or not and he loved playing jokes and games of all sorts. Don loved the finer things in life, but was one of the most frugal people you'd meet. His favorite pass time was fishing with his grandma.

Don was preceded in death by his truly loved uncle, Stanley "Boodie" Smith, his grandma, Carrie Newell, his grandpa, Devon Newell and his uncle, Randy Newell.

Don leaves behind many who truly loved and adored him. His only child, Alissa Smith and two nephews, Javon Chavis and Xaivan Newell who were the three loves of his life, his parents, Don Smith and Debra Newell, his grandma, Fannie "Momma" (Richard) Chambers, an Aunt that was more of a Mother, Kathy "Ann" Smith, three uncles, Carlee Smith, Willie Morris and Scott Newell, an Aunt, Sara Perez, two brothers, Bryan Newell and Mario Bufford, one sister, LaDawn Smith, two special cousins, Dymia Miles & Jonathon White along with a host of other relatives and special friends.

Don will truly be missed by all for this was not his time to be taken from this Earth, but may his soul rest in Heaven.
