Gloria C Chester

Gloria C. (Scott) Chester, age 73, of Longley Avenue, South Bend, IN., passed away at her residence on October 27, 2017.
  
  Gloria was born to Kinnon and Elizabeth (Lane) Scott on January 22, 1944 in Mound City, IL., who both preceded her in death. 
  
  Gloria united in holy matrimony with John Chester on January 19, 1974 in South Bend, IN. She worked many years as a laborer for FW Means. Her hobbies were bingo, going to casino and cooking for others. She was also a member of the Martin Luther King Center Senior Group.
  
  Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Chester, one son, Craig Scott both of South Bend, IN., step- son Christopher Chester of Arizona, two grandchildren, Michelle (Thomas) Scott- Fultz of Indianapolis, IN., and Keisha (James) Scott- Shead of Memphis, TN., three step grandchildren, Caressa Chester of New Orleans, LA., Calvin Chester and Wesley Chester both Arizona, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Nebraska (Marie) Scott of Las Vegas, NV., two brother in laws, Theodore and Michael Chester, two sister in laws, Johnnie Mae Coleman and Cleo Pete all of South Bend, IN., along with an abundance of nieces and nephews. Those that proceeded him in death were seven sisters: Amanda Lindsey, Mattie Scaife, Clara Pigee, Lucille Bridges, Rose Ivy, Evelyn Scott, Shirley Winston; four brothers: Lee Charles Scott, Kenneth Scott, Paul Lucas Scott, Robert George Scott; and one Sister-in-law: Mary Ann Chester.

The Chester family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the nieces and nephews who made her transition easier.
  
  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Alford’s Mortuary with viewing from 10:00 a.m., to 11:00 a.m.
