Gloria D. (Price) Topps, a life-long resident of South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest at the age of 61 on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
Gloria’s life began on January 10, 1957 in South Bend when she was born to the union of Senure and Virginia (Pearson) Price. She was educated in the South Bend Community Public Schools and graduated from John Adams High School in 1975. She and Larry Topps were united in marriage on August 6, 1977.
Gloria’s employment record covered 40 years with Key Bank, serving as V.P., Branch Manager. She also graduated from the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and was an honoree in the annual YWCA of Michiana’s annual tribute to women. Also, received numerous achievement awards throughout her career at Key Bank.
Gloria was a member of Progressive Baptist Church where she was a past Trustee Board Member and worked on Finance Committee. She organized and directed the praise dance team. She played softball with the East Side Coeds foe 20+ years.
Family members who survive to cherish her memory include: her husband, Larry Topps; one daughter, Dionna Topps; one son, Dorian (Bridgette) Topps; five grandchildren, Dominick Topps, Quinn Topps, Sophia Woods, Brock Topps, and Blake Topps, all of South Bend, Indiana; four sisters, Annette (Theodus) Acklin, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Loneatus Austin, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Wyoma of Boston, Massachusetts, and Helen (Douglas) Outlaw, of Grove City, Ohio; five brothers, Theopolis (Lois) Price, of Houston, Texas, Cleaster (Sandra) Price, of Humble, Texas, Gerome (Christina) Price, of Ackworth, Georgia, Donald (Michelle) Price, of Irvine, California, and Clark Price, of South Bend, Indiana, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Senure and Virginia Price; and sister, Mae Florence Tuggle.
Services for Mrs. Topps will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 12:00 Noon with viewing on hour prior at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Spencer officiating.
