Joe Calvin Foster-Fennessee Jr., 47, of South Bend, Indiana, earned his angel wings Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Joe was born to Joe Calvin Fennessee Sr. and Hertha (Foster) Bethany on July 29, 1972. Joe attended South Bend Community Schools. He was an incredibly giving man. He was a jack of all trades. Although he currently worked at Saint Mary’s, he was also a mover, electrician, landscaper, renovator, chef, but most of all he took the time to make himself available. He loved his family. He was also known for talking mess and making you laugh.
He is survived by his mother, Hertha (Foster) Bethany; son, DeMarcus McAllister; 7 step children; 3 brothers: Michael (Shari) Foster, Tige (Missy) Fennessee, Terrance (Linda) Foster of South Bend, Indiana; 6 sisters: Tracy (Frank) Fennessee-McDaniel, Taynisha Fennessee, Tonya Fennessee, Tomeka Foster of South Bend, Indiana, Genita Gardner of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Shanette Williams of Phoenix Arizona; and his very special friends: Toni Roseman and Shakita Love; uncles: Bobby Foster, Rudy Fennesse, Timmy Fennessee, and Terry Fennessee; aunts: Mildred (Bob) Parker, Louise Foster, Jannette Tarver, and Tina Fennessee. He had a host of nephews and nieces of which two special nieces, China Foster-Burks and Tenise Foster; and a host of cousins including special cousins Trinette Fennessee and Da’Leah Parker. He also has 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Calvin Fennessee Sr.; stepfather, Benny Ray Williams; paternal grandmother, Kate Fennessee; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Lily Foster; aunts, Erma Payne, Ruthie Hankin, and Dorothy Foster; uncles: Clyde Foster II, and James Hankin Sr.; nephew, Lamar Foster; cousins Audrey Betts and Tristan Foster.
The Memorial Service and Repass will be held at 408 S. Grant Street, South Bend, Indiana from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
