Latrell Washington Obituary

Latrell Demetrius Lloyd-Washington, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed on Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was born on July 13, 2005 in South Bend, Indiana to Michelle Washington, but resided in Pensacola, Florida with his parents, Topeka and stepmom, Justina Lloyd.

Latrell accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Paul Gospel Mission in South Bend, under the leadership of Pastors S.L. and Jackie Anderson. Latrell attended Bellview Middle School and was a member of the basketball team and track team at Workman Middle School. His basketball jersey was #23. Latrell was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed basketball to the fullest. From an early age he loved to spend time on the court playing basketball with family and friends. Latrell was a true friend to his friends – ready and willing at a moment’s notice, to just “hang out and be himself.” He brought so much laughter and joy to those that knew him.

Latrell was the “life” of the party and loved to just have a good time. He loved being around family and friends. He also loved to play video games in his free time. Latrell will truly be missed by his family, friends and the entire basketball team of Workman Middle School and Bellview Middle School.

Latrell Washington departed this life on Monday, November 4, 2019. He was proceeded in death by his by grandparents: Elizabeth Washington and Shelby Davis; great-grandmother, Charlie Cee Johnson; his aunts: Doris Davis and Gwendolyn Keys; and his uncle, Dale Young.

Latrell is survived by his biological mother, Michelle Washington (Fort Wayne); and his step-parents, Topeka and Justina Lloyd (Florida); his sister, Sierra Brown (Fort Wayne), LaMonica Williams (Fort Wayne); his brothers: Dennis Turner Jr. (Mississippi) and Jakhai Lloyd (South Bend); his grandparents: Ree Royster Roberta Seward (Victor Seward) Donna Bromeling; aunts: Dalonda Hill (his favorite aunt), Latonia Johnson, Teria Williams, Ulonda Lloyd, Nikki Lloyd, Jasmine Forrest, Jessica Forrest, Lucille Benton; uncles: Eric Johnson, John Lloyd, Jessi Lloyd, Cornelius Lloyd, Lakendriak, Lakeith Lloyd, Jeremy Lloyd, Michael Royster; his coaches: Theamad Thomas and Johnathan Cordier (Bellview), Mrs. Carmichael (Workman Middle School).
