Lois Loraine Harmon, 101 was born in Houston County Tennessee on July 10, 1917 to the late Redrick and Maggie Duncan. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord in the presence of loved ones in Hampton, Georgia on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
She married the love of her life, Herschel Harmon in 1946. They moved to South Bend, Indiana and were married for 56 years. To this this union, five children were born. Lois was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her passion and she instilled in them a love of God, a love of family and a sense of pride.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by: her husband, Herschel Harmon; daughter, Elizabeth Harmon; grandson, Roderick Harmon; siblings, William Duncan, Nancy Driver, Russell Duncan, Virginia Hall, Arnold Duncan, Evelyn Daniels, Marie Miller, John Duncan; and a special cousin Udora Harmon.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Loretta (Michele) Harmon of Hampton, Georgia; Theresa Harmon of Los Angeles, California; two sons, Wendel Harmon (Josie) of South Bend, Indiana and Randal Harmon (Mary) of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren Kelli Robinson (Lehmon), Jamal Harmon (Shatoya) and Cedric Harmon (Monica); six great-grandchildren, Kamryn Harris, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Garner, Joshua Harmon, Victoryia Harmon, Jonathon Harmon and Jordan Harmon; two brothers, Floyd Duncan and Austin Duncan; a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Duncan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church with a viewing from 10:00 A.M., to 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at Alford's Mortuary on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m.
