Olivia Pratcher

Mrs. Olivia Pratcher, 77, of Capital Blvd., Elkhart, IN., on Friday, December 29, 2017, the pearly gates swung open to receive our mom to her home in glory.
  
  Olivia was born in Waverly, AR., on February 26, 1940 to Emanule Newsome, Jr., and Lelia (Church) Wesley who both preceded her in death. She married Evanule Pratcher in 1961 who also preceded her in death in 2008. Others who preceded her in death include a daughter, Shirley Furlow and two step children, Tommy Bonds and Dashen Bonds. Coming from Portageville, MO., in 1965 she moved to Elkhart, IN. She was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church where she served the Missionary Society and former choir member. She also sang with The Christian Harmonizers quartet group which began in 1980. She retired from Tradewood Manufacturing in 2000. Her passions were sewing and cooking. Our mom believed in a tight knit family and always encouraged her children to remain close.
  
  Survivors left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Gloria (Pastor Marvin T.) Pace, Doris Pratcher, Glenda (Alphonse, Jr.) Cockerham and Angela (James) Neal, one son, Charles (Betty) Cross, one step son, Genaro Bonds all of Elkhart, IN., 12 grandchildren including a special grandson, Rev. Jacobi Furlow and the twins, Ava and Amya, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Lenora Robinson of Lorain, OH., and Addie Granderson of Elkhart, IN., a special friend, Helen Hunt, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
  
  Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 228 Chapman Street, Elkhart, IN., with viewing occurring at the church from 11:00 a.m., to noon. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
