Ricardo Phillips II, 27, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 in Tampa, Florida. Ricardo, affectionately known as "Lil Ricky," was born December 19, 1991 in South Bend, Indiana, to Ricardo and Kito (Sanders) Phillips.
Ricardo graduated in 2010 from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky. He owned Pretty Lawn Care Landscaping for 17 years. He worked for Home Depot as a Customer Service Representative, there he received the Honor Award, Executive Award and Bronze Award from Home Depot. He also worked for UPS in Dallas, Texas. His hobbies included nature walks, caring for the elderly and writing poetry. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his great grandfather; Joseph Sanders and Grandberry Austin, great grandmother: Bessie Austin and Annie Alston, grandfather; Joseph Sanders II, grandmother; Dorothy Johnson, grandfather, Robert Phillips, aunt; Zennia Lanea Phillips Howard and a uncle; Vegan Franklin.
Ricardo is survived by his daughter, Aala Rai Mabson; his parents: Ricardo and Kito Phillips; sisters: Ashley, Rierra and Arionna Phillips all of Lexington, Kentucky, Cherie, Chereka, Danita and Tenia Phillips all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rikkita and Talor Phillips both of Dallas, Texas, Brittany (Darius) Miller of Elkhart, Indiana, and Kishara Thomas of Columbus, Ohio; brothers: Ricky Phillips of South Bend, Indiana, Tory Phillips of Tampa, Florida, and Romell Phillips of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; maternal grandmother, Mary Austin of Elkhart, Indiana; special aunts: Lori (Pastor Jeremiah) Matthews both of Elkhart, Indiana, Muriel Banks of Lexington, Kentucky and Mona Phillips of Tampa, Florida; special uncles: Shawn (Rakea) Sanders of South Bend, Indiana and Pastor Nathaniel (Cindy) Bradford of Flagstaff, Arizona; godfathers: Archie Irby of South Bend, Indiana and Booker Stokes of Atlanta, Georgia; special cousins: Natasha Johnson and Patrick Banks of Lexington, Kentucky, Tina Wilson of South Bend, Indiana, Quinten Diggins of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jeffery (Myra) Reeves of Atlanta, Georgia; along with a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
