Ricky E. Swanson

Ricky Eugene Swanson, 65, of Rogers Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away May 13, 2017 at his residence.

Ricky was born May 31, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana to Sanford and Connie Swanson. He graduated from Westinghouse High School in Chicago, Illinois. His hobbies were music, DJ and sports.

Ricky was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Malcznski-Swanson; his son, Diego Malcznski; his brother, Judson Swanson-Smith; and his stepfather, William Smith.

Survivors include his mother, Connie Smith; father, Sanford Swanson, both of South Bend, Indiana; three children: Nakomi Swanson of Virginia, Nyasa Swanson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Ricky (Taylor) Swanson of South Bend, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; four sisters: Constance (Howard) Shorter, Yohondous Dickens of North Lauderdale, Florida, Monique (Mark) Hockaday and Dawn Swanson both of South Bend, Indiana; six brothers: William (Charlotte) Swanson and Cortez Smith both of Chicago, Illinois, Sanford Swanson Sr., Donald Swanson, Darryn Swanson and Ben Swanson, all of South Bend, Indiana; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
