Mr. Roosevelt Lacy, Jr., 89, of North Elmer Street, South Bend, IN., passed away June 15, 2018 at West Bend Nursing Home, South Bend, IN.
Roosevelt was born in Marked Tree, AR., on September 4, 1928 to Roosevelt and Rosie (Wilson) Lacy, Sr., who both preceded him in death along with 19 other siblings. Coming from New Jersey in 1962 he moved to South Bend, In., where he married Lillie Lee St. James. He was self-employed owning a Landscape Business. He was a member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include three daughters; Jo Ann Reynolds of Corona, CA., Deborah Carter of Hamilton, New Jersey and Raquel (Nathan) Foster, one son; David C. Lacy both of South Bend, In., six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Verlyn Smith of Arkansas and Nancy Lee Morrison of South Bend, In., two sister in laws; Bessie Selmon of South Bend, In., and Rouvenia Nance of Sparta, Il., four brother in laws; Ned Grant of Chicago, Il., Melvin Anderson of Sparta, Il., Frank Anderson of South Bend, In., and Michael Anderson of Moreno Valley, Ca., along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held on at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church with viewing from 10 a.m., to 11:00 a.m., at the church.
