Deaconess Sheila V. Simms, 49, of North Adams Street, South Bend, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana, on June 1, 2019.
Sheila was born April 20, 1970 in South Bend, Indiana, to Robert Lee Hunter Sr., and Ernestine (McLeod) Reynolds who both preceded her in death along with sisters: Carmen Hunter and Augusta Gathright; grandmother, Lillian McLeod; her aunt, Annie Baldwin; uncles: Joe, Edker, Luvell and Charles McLeod and Prince Reed.
She worked two years in Security for South Bend Airport and four years in the bakery department for Martin’s. She married Marvin Simms who survives. She was member of The Lord’s House of Shepherds where she served as Deaconess.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her stepdad, Henry Reynolds; three daughters: Marquisha (Channing) Minix, Garnesha Horton and Ladonna Ware; two sons: Gary Horton and Roshon Ware; three grandchildren: King Anderson, Jeyonna Ware and Nashon Horton; six sisters: Chirrikka (Kevin) Kirk and Yakira (Manuel Robinson) McLeod all of South Bend, Indiana, Carmen Hunter of Niles, Michigan, Natasha McLeod, Miesha McLeod and Zoe Randle; eight brothers: Joe McDonald, Robert (Deniece) Hunter, Vincent (Carla) Hunter, Terence Hunter and Luvell McLeod all of South Bend, Indiana, Alban McLeod of Buchanan, Michigan, Maurice (Tonya) Hunter and Cedric Hymond, both of Atlanta, Georgia; along with a host of other godchildren, relatives and friends.
