Shirley A. Sanders

Shirley Ann Terry Sanders, 77 of South Bend, Indiana left earth for her heavenly home on April 8, 2017 at 3:20 a.m. Shirley was born November 1, 1939 in Covington Tennessee  to Hewitt Terry and Gladys (Davis) Harris who both preceded her in death.  Also preceding her were Alonzo Harris, her step- father and John Terry her brother.

On October the 19, 1957 in Chicago Illinois she married her soul mate Percy Lee Sanders Jr., who survives. 

Also surviving are her children Elder Darrell (Kathy) L. Sanders, Teresa (Minister Donald) Perry, Perry (Cherrie) Sanders, Corina Sanders and Cedric Sanders.  Mrs. Sanders was the proud grandmother of Donald Perry Jr., Latreesa Perry, Tavarus (Kamika) Perry, Joshua Sanders, Daniel Sanders, Andrew Sanders, Aaron Sanders, Ashlin Sanders, Andrea Sanders, Timara Lauderdale, Cedrianna Sanders, Cedrice Sanders, Devin Sanders, Aliya Sanders  and Daevion Sanders.  Her great grandchildren are Kyla Perry, Kyron Sanders, Ruelle Perry, Shawn Alexander Delgado Sanders and Haylee Grace Delgado Sanders.  She is also survived by her sister Sharon Terry and her brother Willie Terry.

Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker her entire life and served her family unselfishly.  She modeled the scripture that says “her children shall rise up and call her blessed.”  Her passion was anything that involved her children and her family. Shirley was a woman who loved God and whose light shone brightly to all she came in contact with. 

She was an amazing cook who feed her children, grandchildren, family, friends and all she encountered both spiritually and naturally.  She could often be hear singing, praising and worshipping God.  Even in illness she testified that God would take care of her.
