Solomon Grayson

A TIME TO BE BORN: November 1, 1945 Solomon (Red) Grayson, Sr., along
with his twin Saul (Blue) were born to the late Deacon Edgar & Mother Elizabeth
Bolden Grayson in Raymond, MS., He accepted Christ as his personal savior at
an early age and became a member of Big Creek M. B. Church under the
leadership of the late Rev. C. P. Simmons. As a member he sang in the choir,
attended Sunday school, and played a "mean" guitar, (self-taught). He and his
brothers Johnnie & Saul formed a 3-part harmonious singing group; they traveled
far and near singing about the love of Jesus. He also sang with th Harmony
Kings of South Bend Indiana. Solomon attended Big Creek Grade School, West
Side Elementary & Junior High School. He loved to cook and worked as a
cafeteria worker at Forest Hill High School as the Pastry & Bakery Cook.
Solomon retired from AM General after 30 years.
A TIME TO LOVE: Solomon migrated from Jackson, MS to Flint, MI to better his
life and to seek a better job in the early 1960's. He met the love of his life the late
Ms. Margeart J Grayson, they were joined in Holy Matrimony and to this union 2
daughters were born Annette & Cassandra. Later, he moved to Indiana and there
he met and married the late Ms. Olivia Grayson and to this union another 2
children were born Yolanda and Solomon, Jr.
A TIME TO DIE: God looked down and saw that Solomon was restless and
getting tired on this journey. He is now making a joyful noise unto the Lord with
his melodious voice at another level of worship. Sunday Morning, February 18,
2018 at the crack of dawn Solomon answered to God's call and stepped on
board The Old Ship of Zion.
A TIME TO MOURN: He leaves to cherish his legacy, his children, Annette
Grayson, Cassandra (Pastor Rodney) Ellison of Flint, MI, Yolanda Evans, and
Solomon, Jr. (LaSheika) Grayson of South Bend, 15 grandchildren, William
“Duril” Jones, Rodney “Joshua” Ellison Jr., Lauryn Ellison, Christian Ellison
Victoria Adams, Whitney Adams, Mariah Adams, Flint, MI. Leanazia Farrar,
Tyrome Lake, Monyea Lake, Mikayla Ringer, Tatiyana Childress, Elijah Grayson,
Olivia Jett, Kha’ron Grayson South Bend, IN, 2 great grand children D’Eeron
(drummer) Jones Flint, MI and Aaron Gadson South Bend, IN, Special
daughter/son and granddaughters Nikki (Michael) Williams, Dion’ne Sheppard,
Kion’ne Green (son) and Dennis Tucker Jr.
Siblings, Daisy Grayson, Cleveland, OH, Addie (Harvey) Ford, Jackson, MS '
Johnnie B (Letha) Grayson, Murfreesboro, TN, Lula (Clarence) Williams,
Jackson, MS and Essie (Clarence) Franklin, Fontana, CA. Aunt, Mother Lula Bell
Thompson, Flint, MI, 2 sister-in laws who shares the same name Dorothy
Grayson, 1 brother-in law JT Smith and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other close
relatives and friends.
Mr. Solomon Grayson was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Elizabeth
Grayson, Saul Grayson, Erma Bell Smith, James R. Grayson, Winfield Grayson,
Dorothy Richardson, Eddie Grayson, Elouise Grayson, Edgar W. Grayson.
