Vivian Easton Scott

SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Vivian (Easton) Scott departed this life at the age of 84 at Briarcliff Health & Rehab Center on April 28, 2018.

Vivian was born in South Bend, Indiana on May 21, 1933 to Booker and Mahalia (Johnson) Easton.

She was married to Clifford Maddox, who preceded her in death; to their union two children were born. In 1955 she married Tony Scott, who also preceded her in death.

As a life-time area resident, Vivian was employed by the South Bend Community School Corporation as a Teacher's Aide, working at Muessel, Harrison, and Marshall Elementary Schools. She worked for JJC and was a foster grandparent for Real Services.

She was also a member of New Life Ministries for over 20 years, where she served on the Mothers Board.

Mrs. Scott leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Ramona Harris; one son, Michael (Annie) Maddox; eight grandchildren, Toi (Andre`) Gunn, Aaronna Harris, Ricky Maddox, James Harris, Aurhelia Merriweather, Diallo Maddox, Taron Maddox, and Jamata Maddox; sisters, Fae Ella (Easton) Nailon of San Diego, California, Fern (Easton) Taylor, and Terry (Easton) Billingsley, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brothers, James Henry (Arnetta) Easton of Lafayette, LA, Charlie N. (Irene) Easton, Ernest L. Easton, Melvin E. (Barbara) Easton, Billy Gene Easton, Sr., all of South Bend, Indiana, and Willie Wilson, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; a special friend, Barbara Brown, along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ruby Sims, Shirley Easton, Odie Easton, Hersha Easton, and Johnny M. Easton.

Services for Mrs. Vivian Scott will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., at Pentecostal Cathedral. Friends may visit the church one hour before the service.
