WILLIE LEE BLACKWELL was born on 28 October 1921 in Hickman, Kentucky to Lee and Frances (Clark) Mayes. WILLIE was the last survivor of eleven siblings.
Willie Lee Mayes and Thomas Wendell Blackwell were married on 14 July 1941 in Charleston, Missouri. They raised three children, Charles, Wendell and Rodney. Willie's husband Thomas and eldest son Charles preceded her in death.
Willie was a faithful member of Kingdom Christian Center, under Pastor Kenneth Lee, where she served for many years.
WILLIE leaves behind to cherish her memories sons Wendell and Rodney, grandchildren Lamar, Tommy, Ambrosio, Angela, Michael, Mark, Jessica, and Rodney, great grand-children Melanie, Jadyn, and Jericho along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Willie possessed a strong faith in God and in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Her love and devotion to her family is where she devoted most of her time and energy.
