Willie L. Harris

Deacon Willie L. Harris, a resident of Green Pine Court, Mishawaka, Indiana passed from this life at the age of 84 years, at 5:58 p.m., on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Memorial Hospital.
  
  Life for Deacon Harris began on May 29, 1934 in Rison, Arkansas when he was born to the union of Jeff and Jessie Lee (Segrest) Harris. He had lived in South Bend for the past 57 years coming from Gary, Indiana. On May 29, 1976, Willie and Pamela Totten were united in wedlock in Elkhart, Indiana. After 20 years of employment, he retired from Elkhart Community School Corporation.
  
  Deacon Harris was a member of Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ since 1971, serving on the Deacon Board and the Trustee Board. He also was past president of the Usher Board. He was affectionately known as "The Deacon".
  
  Loving family members who survive are his wife, Pam Harris; four daughters, Vanessa Harris and Natalie Harris, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jennifer Harris of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Monica (Wallace) Buie of Los Angeles, California; six grandchildren, Whitney Buie, Madison Clark, Jaden Harris-Lott, Jenuwin Harris, Natalyn Harris, and Majesty Buie; two sisters, Helen Wynn of Gary, Indiana, and Lorrine Patterson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three brothers, Booker (Mary) Harris of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Lorenzo Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada, and James (Jonnie) Harris of Florida, along with other relatives and friends.
  
  Preceding him in death along with his parents were siblings, Corrine Releford, Ben Harris, Virgil Harris, Rufus Harris, and Vincent Harris.
  
  Home going services for Deacon Willie Harris will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. Visitation will be held from 6- 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
