Alberta (Binnion) Kindred, who resided on North Johnson Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at the age of 92 at 9:47 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, at Saint Joseph Health System.
Alberta was born April 1, 1929, in Dancy Pickens, Alabama to the union of Willie and Channie (Clark) Binnion, who both preceded her in death along with her husband, Harry Lee Kindred; their only child, a son, Willy James Love; five brothers, George, Cleveland, William, Dill and Frank Binnion; a stepsister; two close nieces: Alberta, Binnion-Hawkins, Atta Mae Binnion-Ulmer; close cousins, George McLinstrey, Trudy Mae McKinstery.
Coming from Alabama over 70 years ago, she moved to South Bend, Indiana, and was a member of Sweet Home Ministries. She invested 20 years of service in the ministry with Dr. E.A. Jones as Pastor. Her passion was enjoying cooking, dancing, and outdoor bar-b-ques with loved ones.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include nine grandchildren: Winter, Willy, Felicia, Melissa, and Andrea Strong, all of South Bend, Indiana and Willie, Michael, Aquilla, and Theresa Love, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a special daughter-in-law, Violet Stallings of South Bend, along with a host of nieces and nephews that she practically raised.
