Allen Myers Williams, known simply as Allen to those who held him dear, was born on July 22, 1954, in Mansfield, OH, and for the past 30 years, made Mishawaka, Indiana his home. Allen, the humble maintenance man with an ambitious spirit and a heart full of courage, left an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His journey on this earthly plane concluded on August 17, 2025, but his story, his legacy, and his love continue to resonate in the hearts of many.
Allen spent the better part of his life devoted to ensuring the smooth running of the Marriott Courtyard in South Bend, Indiana. His dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to his role were evident to both his colleagues and the many guests who frequented the hotel. His retirement in 2008 marked the end of a fulfilling career, but Allen, ever the courageous soul, embraced this new chapter of his life with the same zest and enthusiasm that defined his work life. As Maya Angelou once said, "Courage is the most important of all the virtues because, without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."
Allen was never married, but his life was enriched and enlivened by the love he shared with his surviving relatives. His son, Eld. Tyler Teasley, his niece, Ida Parker, his step-daughter, Sharone Holmes, his step-son, Darius Teasley, his sister, Mary Adkins, and his brothers, Robert and Eldery Williams, will forever hold precious memories of Allen. His nephew, Neal Williams, and his daughter-in-law, Marquetta Gavin-Teasley, also mourn his passing. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Susie Williams, his step-son, Kyle Dantzler, and his siblings Sandra Parker, Peggy Williams, Eddie Williams, Charles Williams, Buford Williams, David Williams, Clearence Williams, and Leon Williams.
The visitation and celebration of Allen's life will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Pentecostal Cathedral COGIC, 1025 West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, 46601. The visitation will begin at 11:00am EDT, followed by a celebration of his life at 12:00pm EDT.
As we come together to remember Allen, we invite you to share your memories, photos, and stories of him on the memorial page. Each story and photo shared helps to keep his memory alive and allows us to remember not just that Allen was here, but that he lived fully, loved deeply, and enriched the lives of those around him.
