Allen Winston Obituary

Allen LaShawn (Maxwell) Winston made his entrance into this world Jan 15th, 1974.

Blessed with grandparents Charles and Florida Maxwell to rear his youthful and adolescent years, Allen was introduced to Jesus early on his life’s journey and joined Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church as a child.

Allen attended South Bend Community School Corporation prior to joining his father for his high school years. Allen then experienced life primarily on the West Coast between “Cali”, Seattle, Oregon and Las Vegas; this is where his free-spirit and fun with travel began, most recently ending with excitement as he and his dad were preparing for an African safari. In addition to travelling, Allen enjoyed tasty food (especially green beans, lol!), “holln at the women wit his lil short self”, and gettn paper (gambling at the casino); Allen was a “cAnnABisseur” of “medicinals” (lol), a forever lover of cars, had a one-of-a-kind gift of telling stories, and huge passion for rap music. Tupac was most definitely a favorite!

Evolving from AlCapone to Siral, the love of true family and presence of peace grew especially important over the years; Allen was father to eight beautiful children, gran’pa to five adorable grandchildren and “Uncka Al” to favorite nieces and nephews (Junior Serrano, Carlos James Jr., Que’Shawn Maxwell, Royce Robinson Jr., LaShon Millard, Christian Tate, Florida Tate, and Miquaela Smith). Allen began annual trips home, most recently staying to help care for Granny – Allen would make his famous “Siral grits” just for Granny’s at breakfast! Allen was Flonita’s Twin, SchaLisa’s First Sibling, Mikey’s ACE, Uncle Ronnie’s “Allen Pluuck”, Uncle Bruce’s “Allewishiss”, Spicer’s Garage sale C.L.O., and Cousin Felicia’s Drive & Shine. We love you so much, Siral!

Resting before Allen are his sister, Gwen Winston; Grandparents, Charles E. Maxwell, Cozzie Scott and Napoleon Winston; Godmother, Linda Brown; Aunts Jackie Mitchell and Sharon Lewis; Uncles Milton and Sterling Winston, and Charles Ronnie and Val Dez Maxwell.

Left to honor and cherish Allen’s life are his children: Shaelynn, Alyse, Malyiah, Starla, Napolean, LaShawn, Princess Ali’ka, and Jay’den; Grandchildren, Madilynn, Nia, Jai’lonie, A’Mazzi, and Thalia; his fathers, Glen Winston and Willie Moody; Grandmother, Florida Maxwell; Godmother, Valerie Washington; Siblings, Flonita Maxwell, Terrance Grant, Marcus Moody, Virginia Winston, Glen Winston, Jr., Willie Maxwell, Derrick Smith, Victoria Moody, LaChica Westall, Justin Winston, Raymond Irving, and Arif Winston; Siblings with Distinction, SchaLisa (Rev.
