Andre McCollough Obituary

Mr. Andre Antoine McCollough, 53, went to be with the Lordon July 26th, 2022, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana.  He was born on January 31st, 1969, in Michigan City, Indiana to Ozie McCollough and Roy Hudson Jr.  Andre was raised in a strong Christian faith environment, under the guidance of his mother, Ozie and stepfathers, Terrence Walker and Robert Forrest.  

At an early age, Andre gave his life to Christ and was baptized by Reverend Hardy Williams of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.  After graduating from South Bend Adams High School in 1987, he then attended Indiana State University.

Other than his family, Andre loved music and dancing.  He loved to dress, entertain, loved telling jokes and making people laugh.  He always gave a helping hand to those in need and loved being with his family and friends.  Andre worked at Elkhart Plastics, in Assembly, Goodwill Industries in Production, but most enjoyed working for Kidz Co., with Alex, Big Mike and Damion.  Andre proudly served as an Usher at his church, Greater New Vision Missionary Baptist.  He was a true “Momma’s Boy”!  Andre was affectionately known as “Dre-Dog” to his family and friends.

Andre honored his commitment to his younger brother by helping to raise his nieces and nephews Coursha, Courtney, Cymphanie and Jaden.

Andre leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Ozie McCollough-Walker of South Bend, In, two daughters, Tearia Sheree McCollough and Andre’a Ree McCollough and Eight grandchildren, all of South Bend, In, maternal aunts; Linda Daniel, Michigan City, In, Dianne McCollough-Travis, Dolton, Il, Charmaine McCollough, South Bend, In, Montina McCollough and Mauya (Alton) Stover, Indianapolis, In, great aunt, Joe Ann Satele, Milwaukee, WI paternal aunts;  Paula Hudson, Renee Hudson and Donna (Dennis) Hood, all of Michigan City, In, uncles; Russelle (Rosalind) McCollough, Fredrick, MD, Wendell (Tamara) McCollough, Terre Haute, In, special cousin, Terrence McCollough, Michigan City, In, special sister, Stephanie Johnson-Rowell, South Bend, In.  special friends: Sonjuam Perry and Kenyon Franklin and leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Andre was preceded in death by his brother, Courtney Allen Rowell, Sr., father, Roy Hudson Jr., stepfather, Terrence Walker, maternal grandparents; James and Irene McCollough, paternal grandparents; Flora and Roy Hudson Sr., great grandmother, Princella “Granmo” Rucker, uncles; Antoine McCollough, Clinton McCollough, Reverend Howard Daniel, Roscoe Hudsonand Raynard Hudson, aunts; Pamela Ann (Hudson) Lark and Vickie Hudson, cousins; Brandon Daniel, Sr. and Shanna McCollough and nephew De’Andre Hudson.

Andre’s favorite saying were “Till the World Blow Up” and “It’s a beautiful thang”!

Services for Mr. McCollough will be held on Friday August 5, 2022 at 1 p.m at Greater New Vision Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, 46628. Visitation will be held an hour prior at 12 Noon. Reverend Tyron Lax will bring the word. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford’s Mortuary Inc. - South Bend
