Angela R. Walker

Angela Renee "Nay" Walker, born on December 3, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, was a compassionate and inspiring soul whose resilience and spirited nature touched the hearts of many.

A lifelong resident of South Bend, Angela's love and dedication for her community were as profound as her love for her family. Known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter, she brought joy into every room she entered. Angela was a proud graduate of the Washington High School Class of 1983, a remarkable achievement as she graduated a year early. A woman of many talents, Angela was known for her extraordinary cooking skills, her love for shopping, and her remarkable collection of purses and shoes.

However, what truly mattered most to Angela was her family - her cherished children, grandchildren, and her husband, Taft Walker, whom she married on August 11, 2023. Angela was a woman of extraordinary strength, warm-hearted, and spirited, constantly inspiring those around her with her unwavering resilience and zest for life.

Angela is survived by her loving spouse, Taft Walker; her children, Turrell A. McDaniel, Tereman A. Robertson, Tierra L. (Steven)House, and Donald E. Robertson, Jr. Her brother, Kwasi Barnes; her niece, JaRyah Barnes; her grandchildren, Leliana Robertson, Tereman II, Tiondre Barnes, Galaxie, Legacy, Empire, Atlas, Zoe, Zayden, Zayahn, and Zailee-Reign; her nieces, Jannica Barnes, and Jessica Wainwright; and her special sisters and cousin, Angela Pope, Rene Breveard, Denetta Curl, and Jimmy Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mary Barnes, and her brother, Jessie Barnes.

A celebration of Angela's vibrant life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 12:00 EST at Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601. Friends may visit an hour prior. Those who knew and loved Angela are encouraged to leave memories and upload photos to her memorial page, celebrating the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on all our hearts.
