Arthur L. McKinney

Arthur Lindberg McKinney, 71, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Friday June 4, 2021. He was born on June 25, 1949, in Gary, Indiana to Ruby Warner Tutson and Arthur McKinney Sr. In 1953 he relocated to Buchanan, MI where he graduated from Buchanan High School in 1967. 

Arthur met the Love of his life, JoAnn Dickens McKinney, and on June 17, 1972 they were united in Holy Matrimony. They purchased a home in South Bend, Indiana and were married for 24 wonderful years. Arthur gave his life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of Lively Stone Ministries where he served as an Elder under the guidance of Pastor H. Quincy Watts.

Arthur was a laborer at Clark Equipment, Allied, and Faurecia. A die-hard Michigan fan, he enjoyed cruising around in his 1974 Buick Regal blasting music on his way to visit friends to "talk smack" at Al’s Barber Shop and also Mrs. Adeline’s. He also loved and looked forward to watching his grandchildren play sports.

Arthur leaves to cherish in his memories, two daughters: Kim (Troy) Phillips, RuZell McKinney; one son, DeRon (Cassandra) Phillips all of South Bend; sisters: Rhonda Tutson of Buchanan, Michigan, Norma (Jethrow) Kyles of Niles, Michigan, Ava (Dave) Bytner, Sonya (Norman) Lee of South Bend; brothers: Michael McKinney, Kevin McKinney of Gary, Indiana, Ronald McKinney of San Antonio Texas; six granddaughters: Chasity Franklin, Briana Phillips, DeRonna Phillips, Emily Phillips, Karis Phillips, Kiara Finley; three grandsons: D’Ante Franklin, Timothy Hope, Jeff Finley; 15 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Geraldine McKinney; two sisters-in-law, Queen Tutson, Edith Dickens; three brothers-in-law, LeVon (Denise) Dickens, Norman (Lettica) Dickens, Stanley (Karen) Dickens; special friends: Francis Brown, Linda Moseray; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Dickens McKinney; and parents, Ruby and Robert Tutson.
