It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Zemira R'Love Joyce Smith, who left us too soon on June 22, 2024. Born in South Bend, Indiana, on January 4, 2024, to adoring parents Margarita Garza and Kenyatta Smith, Zemira's time here may have been short, but her impact was monumental.
Zemira was a true testament to the power of joy and love. Her infectious smile could light up any room, and her formidable strength was an inspiration to all. She was a beacon of happiness, spreading joy and warmth wherever she went. As someone once said, "There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world." Zemira's imprint was one of pure love and unbridled joy – a beacon of light in the world.
More than just an adorable baby, Zemira was a source of limitless love and happiness for those who were fortunate to know her. Her intelligence was evident even at her tender age, and her soul-deep love was palpable to everyone she met. She was a shining star in our family, a bright spark that will continue to glow brightly in our hearts, bringing warmth and comfort in our moments of sorrow. The world is a poorer place without her.
Zemira is survived by her loving parents, Margarita and Kenyatta; her siblings, Madrian, Kenyatta, and Victory; her grandmothers, Angela Thompson, Tejuana Cheeks-Ross; her pawpaw Claude (Sylvia) Ross; her great-grandmothers, Margarita Garza and Gertrude Cheeks; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dino Garza, and her great-grandmother, Gwendolyn Ross.
We invite all those who were touched by Zemira's life to share their memories and photos on her memorial page. Each memory, each picture, will help keep her spirit alive in our hearts. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the joy and love she brought into our lives, and let that be her enduring legacy.
