Betty Teresa Donaldson was born on April 22, 1964, in South Bend, Indiana, to the loving union of Johnnie and Izola (Gates) Donaldson III.
Teresa accepted Christ at an early age, a commitment she carried throughout her life. Later, she united with Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ricardo Taylor Sr., where she continued to grow in her faith and service.
Teresa received her early education from Harrison Elementary School. She later pursued higher education at Kentucky State University, where she proudly earned her degree in Nutritional Science. She went on to serve her community through her work at Transitional Nursing Facility, where she was employed as a supervisor and known for her dedication, compassion, and strong work ethic.
Teresa deeply loved her son, Trae Edward Taylor, whom she cherished beyond measure. She held her parents, siblings, and entire family close to her heart. Teresa found joy in cooking, hosting family gatherings, and bringing loved ones together. She especially enjoyed planning family reunions and spending time socializing with friends and family—creating memories that will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters: Helen Harris, Ruth (David) Blake, and Gail Woodford; and her brothers: Joe (Crystal) Donaldson of South Bend, IN; William (Lavern) Donaldson of Detroit, MI; and Kenneth (Sharon) Donaldson of Cincinnati, OH. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever remember her kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
Teresa was preceded in death by five brothers—James Donaldson, Paul Donaldson, Ivan Donaldson, Jerry Donaldson, and her beloved twin, Alan Tyrone Donaldson—as well as nephews Jarvice Donaldson and Jahawn Horton, and niece Maisha Harris-Mackey.
Teresa’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, her laughter, and the warmth she brought to every gathering will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
