Brian Timothy Phillips departed this life at the age of 63 on August 28, 2021, at the Ernestine M. Raclin House (Hospice) in Mishawaka, Indiana. Brian was born on October 14, 1958, to Wiley and Joann Phillips.
He attended and graduated from Washington High School in 1977. He was employed at Stone Container until he retired. Brian loved to listen to Al Green and Wilson Pickett. He also loved his family and friends. He was affectionately known to everybody as (Jabbo). He loved to tell jokes and old-time family stories about our Dad and grandfather. At an early age, Brian was baptized at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in South Bend.
Loved ones who survive to mourn his loss include his loving mother, Joann Phillips; his son, Jermaine Phillips; daughter, Fallon Phillips, both of South Bend, Indiana; his grandchildren: Maurie, Ameer, JaQuan, Jamill Phillips, and Jaiciana Anderson of South Bend, Indiana, and Brandon Dior Phillips of Fort Wayne, Indiana; siblings: Michael Johnson, Sandra Johnson, Kimberly (Kenny) Johnson, Pastor Patricia (Michael) Henderson, Jerome Phillips and Kenny Thompson all of South Bend Indiana, Bettina Harris of Arlington, Texas, Jackie (Anthony) Williams, Nancy Anderson both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sandra Johnson and Nancy Anderson, all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Wiley ( ) Phillips of Hermitage TX.,
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Phillips Jr.; his son, Brandon Phillips; siblings: Regina Clark, Larry Phillips, Calvin Smith, James Phillips, Terrance Phillips, Thomasina Jones and William (June Vic) Thompson; his grandparents, Leadia and Claude Fikes, Wiley Sr., and Alice Phillips; his brother-in-law, Jerry Harris; and close friend, Bobby Johnson.
