Brittany J. Abner

Brittany Jo Abner ,24, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend of Scottburg, IN passed away on Sunday September 26, 2021. 

Brittany was born to Joanna Gay and Malcum Abner on November 5th, 1996. Brittany was raised in South Bend, IN for a greater period of her life. She was educated through the South Bend Community School while in South Bend and later was a proud graduate of Hoosier Youth Challenge Academy Military School. Brittany had a bright future ahead of her. Brittany graduate top of her class and was awarded a full scholarship to a college of her choice from then Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. 

Survivors left to cherish her memory includes her parents Joanna (Dianna Walker) Gay of South Bend, IN., and Malcum (Kim) Abner of Scottburg, IN.  One beautiful daughter Denoira J. Abner of Scottburg, IN. Maternal grandparents Joe Gay Sr of Austin, IN and Carolyn Barrett of Scottsburg, IN. Paternal grandparents Alford “Wayne” (Debbie) Abner of Hazard, KY and Betty Campbell of Scottsburg, IN. Five aunts Tina Green, Donna, Dianna, and Tammy Combs of Austin, IN, and Donna Sue of Scottsburg, IN. Four uncles Joe Jr, Larry Gay, Michael Barrett, and Robert Campbell of Scottsburg, IN. 

Five sisters Briyanna Gay, Dianna Gay, Jayquanna Pollard, and JayQuianna Pollard of South Bend, IN and Makayla Abner of Scottburg, IN. One brother Tony D. Hesiban of Michigan City, IN. Special love ones Azhia Minies, Desiree Broadest, Kelsi Smith, Kadin Smith, and Jelisa Barber. Along with a host of relatives and friends. 

Brittany was proceed in death by her maternal  great grandparents Jobby and Elmae Combes along with Hazel Barrett. Paternal great grandmother Ollie Lynch. One sister Jayqwena Pollard. One special aunt Denise M. Walker and a host of relatives and friends. 

The family would also like to say “ Thank You” to everyone who contributed to help ensure that our beloved Brittany received a proper burial. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to hold on to God’s unchanging hand.
