Carlotta Jean Underwood, 77, born September 12, 1948, in Elkhart, Indiana, was the fourth oldest of nine children born to Oliver Underwood Sr. and Grace Underwood.
Carlotta entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2026, in Kettering, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend whose life was defined by service to others, generosity, faith, and love for her family.
Carlotta is survived by her daughters, Monique Underwood and Tiffney (JimQuell Sr.) Young; her four beloved grandchildren, Jayden Underwood, JimQuell Young Jr., Mason Young, and Madyson Young; her brothers, Richard (Faye) Blake, Oliver (Shannon) Underwood Jr., Robert (Mae) Underwood, Reginald (Vera) Underwood, and Rafeal Underwood; her sisters, Elizabeth (Syd Jr.) Ulis and Donna (Thomas) Hairston.
Carlotta was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Underwood Sr. and Grace Jean Underwood, and her brother, Raymond A. Underwood.
She found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her “girls” and grandchildren. Her laughter, wisdom, and guidance will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for years to come.
Carlotta will be remembered for her strength, determination, and unwavering love for her family. She had a God-fearing spirit and a giving heart, always willing to support and uplift those around her. Whether through her words of encouragement or her quiet acts of kindness, she made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Her love will never be forgotten, and her legacy will continue through the family she cherished so deeply.
