Chancy Lee Van Norman was born August 13, 1945, in Amite County, Mississippi, to the late Edward and Sarah Williams Van Norman. He departed this life on May 28, 2020, in South Bend, Indiana.
Chancy accepted Christ at an early age and united with Star Hill C.M.E. Church in Gloster, Mississippi. Chancy graduated from Central High School in Liberty, Mississippi in 1965. After graduation Chancy moved to New Orleans, Louisiana then relocated to Elkhart, Indiana where he was employed with CTS Corporation until he became disabled. In his later years, Chancy relocated to South Bend, Indiana where he remained until his death.
Chancy was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sarah Van Norman; five brothers: Edward, Linex, Clinton, Lester, and Flynn Richard Van Norman; four sisters-in-law: Bessie Lee, Alma Net, Rosetta and JoAnn Van Norman.
Chancy peacefully fell asleep in King Jesus and is resting from his labors awaiting the voice of the Lifegiver. He leaves to cherish his precious memories one sister, Mary Ann Phillips of Elkhart, Indiana; two brothers: Andrew Lewis ( Geneva) Van Norman of Kenner, Louisiana, Leo Van Norman of Mishawaka, Indiana; two sisters-in-law: Bernice Van Norman of Versailles, Kentucky, Queen C. Van Norman of Gloster, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
