Mr. Charles Anthony Thornton “Charlie B” was born on May 19, 1967, to Roslyn Thornton and Sylvester Williams in South Bend, Indiana. On August 23, 2020 he made his heavenly transition from this earthly life to eternal rest. At the time of his demise, Charles was 53 years of age.
Charles grew up in South Bend, Indiana where he attended Adams High School. In 1984 he met Marsha Styles. Three years later, on August 14, 1987, Charles and Marsha became one. From that union one daughter, Prince Ella Thornton was born. In 1987 Charles joined the United States Army where he received the Army Service Ribbon and National defense service medal. Charles was honorably discharged in 1995.
Charles enjoyed spending time with his family where he would show off his cooking skills and challenge everyone to a game of horse. On August 19, 2004, Charles received what he called “The greatest gift from God”, the birth of his first grandson; Dareon Thornton. From that moment, Charles took being a grandfather honorable. He was sure to be present, never missing a moment to be a part of his life.
