Charles E. Smith Jr.

Charles Earl Smith Jr., 53, of Gary, Indiana passed away unexpectantly on February 10, 2021, in South Bend at Memorial Hospital. He was born to the parents of Catherine Farr and Charles Earl Smith of Gary, Indiana on February 25, 1967, in Gary, Indiana.

Charles received his formal education from Roosevelt High School, graduating in the early 80’s. He was a very loving but yet difficult person at times. He had a heart of gold and would give his last to anyone. He was known and loved by so many people. He loved spending time with his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. All the children loved spending time with him because he would allow them to get away with whatever, as long as they did not burn down the house. He was a family man. I could write a book about Charles.

Charles married the love of his life, Mamie Smith of Gary, Indiana, on October 9, 2009, where they shared many memories.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mamie Smith; two children: Emani Mariah Smith and Charles Earl Smith III of South Bend, Indiana; five stepchildren: Lindsey Wright, Jerriana Wright, David Wright, Mary and Juwan of Gary, Indiana; his parents; two brothers: Bryant Smith, and Darnell Smith both of Gary, Indiana; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
