Chiquita Janeen Prince, affectionately known as "Kitta" or "Quita", was born on October 29, 1978 in East Chicago, Indiana.
Chiquita was a beacon of light in this world, radiating her supportive, loving, and humble nature to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a thoughtful person, always considering the needs and feelings of others. Chiquita was a true diva at heart, and loved shopping and taking care of herself. She also enjoyed the tranquility of nature, often found sitting by a riverside, lost in the calm rhythm of the flowing water. Above all, Chiquita cherished spending quality time with her family and friends, and loved hosting activities for her beloved grandchildren.
Having spent the majority of her life in Indiana, Chiquita moved from South Bend to Indianapolis, making a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. She was a dedicated and passionate teacher for 30 years, giving much of her heart and soul to the noble cause of education. Her dedication to her students was a testament to her supportive and loving nature. Chiquita took pride in her work, always striving to make a difference in the lives of her students, helping them to grow and flourish.
Chiquita was deeply committed to her faith. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was an active member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort for her and she was able to impart that strength to others around her. Chiquita carried her faith in her heart, and it was evident in her actions and the love she showed to others. Chiquita was a loving mother, a dedicated sister, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend.
She is survived by her mother, Althea King, her children Ta'Liah Cristler, Trashon Cristler, and Travion Swoaks, her grandchildren Za'mira, Za'kir, and Za'nova Swoaks, her siblings Andrea Prince, Daniel, Andre Prince, Alphonso Prince, and Deshannon King. A special grandmother Eveline O'Neal. Her nieces Aliyah McCall, Tynisa Purnell, Shaquala Purnell, and Khadijah Purnell. Her father, Kenneth Woods Sr, her brother Kenneth Jr, and her grandparents Julius O'Neal Jr and Annie and Louis Prince preceded her in death.
Chiquita's legacy of love, humility, and thoughtfulness will continue to inspire and guide us. While she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear, and in the lives of those she touched with her kindness and love.
As we remember Chiquita, let us celebrate her life and the many ways she enriched ours. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Chiquita on her memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help to keep her memory alive and will provide comfort for all who loved her.
