Clifton Lee Obituary

Clifton Lee Sr., a man of deep faith, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born on February 18, 1933, in Belzoni, Mississippi. Clifton was united in holy matrimony to Ruby Mae Howard on 10-14-1950. They shared a happy home for 65 years. Clifton was an adventurous soul who was unafraid of challenges. Clifton was remarkably compassionate and generous. His kindness extended not only to his family and friends, but also to his beloved dogs.

Clifton was a man of numerous roles - devoted husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, a caring brother, and a trusted friend. He was a pillar in his community, serving as the head deacon of his church and setting an example of Christ's love for others. His faith was reflected in his actions as he lived out the Christian call to love one another. As stated in the Bible, "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14).
Clifton embodied this verse, pouring out his love to everyone he knew. His family, which mattered most to him, includes his children , Clifton Lee Jr. (Linda), Shelby, NC, Rubystine Newbill, (Angelo) Charlotte, NC, Cynthia Lee, South Bend, IN., Patricia Newbill, (Desi) Salt Lake City, Utah, Roy Clarence Lee (Phillis) Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Timothy Lee (Priscilla) South Haven, Mississippi, his siblings; Albert (Bessie) Lee, Bennard (Debra) Lee, Curtiss Watkins, Shirley Williams, and Nannie McDonald, 32 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, 55 great great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Sr., and Essie Harvy Lee, his wife Ruby Mae Lee, his sons, Robert Lee, Carlas Lee, Donald Lee Sr. and Ronald Lee, and 11 siblings.

In retirement, Clifton sought solace in the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in fishing and hunting, hobbies that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the tranquility it offered. These activities not only gave him a sense of peace but also catered to his adventurous spirit. His love for these hobbies was only surpassed by his love for his family and his unwavering faith.

He was adventurous, ambitious, compassionate, and his generous
spirit lives on in those who had the honor of knowing him. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind, reminding them of his indomitable spirit and unwavering faith in God.

Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and upload photos of Clifton to the memorial page. In these shared memories and pictures, we can celebrate Clifton's life and the profound impact he made on those around him.
