Connalita Stewart

Connalita Stewart 63 of Trader Court West South Bend IN passed away Thursday March 24, 2022 at Memorial Hospital South Bend IN.

Connalita was born February 22, 1959 in Chicago IL to Donald James and Evelyn (Austin) Stewart who both preceded her in death along with a brother Dwight Irvin Stewart.

Connalita attended Hirsch High School in Chicago IL and received her GED and Phlebotmosit certificate from Kennedy King College. She worked 10 years as a drug abuse counselor for Cornell Industries in Chicago IL. She moved to South Bend IN in 2010. Her passion was writing and working with Saint Margarets House

Survivors left to cherish her memory include four sisters Sharron Austin and Alvera Chamblis both of Chicago IL, Mildred Anita Stewart of Akron OH and Iris J. (Maurice) Plump of South Bend IN, her favorite aunts Betty Marshall and Doris Austin both of Chicago IL and two nephews; one neice Renita Austin and one great nephew James Michael Barnett both of Chicago IL, two great neices Ariel (Marcus) Janice Crowder of Chicago IL and Jamaya Aris Austin of Los Angeles CA, one great great nephew Markel Donovan Crowder and one great-great neice Amaya Joy Crowder both of Chicago IL along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Celebration will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday April 9, 2022 at Alford’s Mortuary 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601.
