On December 2, 2023, Cora Lee Love, a humble and charismatic woman, was called home to join the heavenly choir. Born on May 26, 1923, in Moorhead, MS, Cora was a dedicated woman of faith and a beacon of compassion in the lives of those she touched. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her spirit emanated warmth and kindness that will be deeply missed. Cora's devotion to her faith was evident in her daily life. She found solace in studying the Bible, often finding comfort in the verse, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). She not only lived her life following this verse but also shared this wisdom with her family. Cora also had a passion for cooking, a talent she honed over the years as a culinary assistant at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, before retiring in 1988. Her love for cooking didn't stop with retirement. Cora and her late husband Leroy co-owned three BBQ restaurants, Hickory Smoke House in Niles, MI, Leroy's Ribs & Tips in South Bend, IN, and L & L Restaurant in South Bend, IN during the 1970s and 1980s. She was famous for her original BBQ sauce, a secret family recipe that was adored by all who tasted it. Cora is survived by her children, Charles Love, Terry Love, Gail (Wayman) Husband, Sharon (Wayne) Clark, Beverly (Raymond) Holt, and her daughter-in-law, Georgiana Love, and her son-in-law, Don Sizemore, and her sister, Della Love, residing in Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard and Cora Wilson-Robinson, her loving husband, Leroy Love, Sr., her children, Johny (Georgiana) Love, Ollie Exum, Leroy Jr., and Shirley(Don) Sizemore. Cora's legacy of love and faith will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched. We invite you to celebrate our mother's life with us by sharing your memories, stories, on Cora's memorial page. Let's remember her life, not for its conclusion, but for the beautiful journey that it was.
