Dallas James Nailon, lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana, departed from this life on December 31, 2023, at the age of 58. Dallas was born on October 26, 1965. He was one of 10 children raised in a loving home by his parents Merlyn Nailon Sr. and Dorthy Mae (Saunders) Nailon. Dallas was a Lasalle High School Lion.

Dallas was known for doing security at “The Spot”, and he enjoyed his job. He liked to cook and grill, lift weight, and he loved good soul music. He also loved Lil Boosie. Lastly, Dallas loved his family and loved ones. He was a protector, and he protected the people he loved without thinking twice.

A limb has fallen from our family tree. A voice can be heard saying, “Grieve not for me, for my mind is at ease and my soul is at rest.” Dallas’s loving memories leave a bright beacon of light for all that knew him.

Dallas leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Shonta Thorpe of Memphis, Tennessee; his grand-children, Emoni White, Emon “DJ”  White and Eshon White all of Memphis, Tennessee; his sister, Andrea Nailon of Houston, Texas; his sister, Diane (Dwayne) Busch of South Bend, IN; his sister, Marilyn “Choo-Choo” Nailon of South Bend, IN; his sister Angela “Neicey” Harris of Warsaw, IN; his brother brother, Merlyn Nailon Jr of Fort Wayne, IN; his brother, William Nailon of South Bend, IN; his best friend/ brother, Daryl Osburne of South Bend, IN; his aunt, Mary (Saunders) Bond of South Bend, IN; his uncle, Eugene Plump of South Bend, IN; his long time significant other Charlotte Griffin of South Bend, IN; a special niece/ daughter, Ashley Nailon of South Bend, IN; a special cousin, Jesse “Pinky” Saunders of South Bend, IN; his God-brother Elder Joseph (Sharon) Parahams of South Bend, IN and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Dallas is preceded in death by his father, Merlyn Nailon Sr.; his mother, Dorothy Mae (Saunders) Nailon; his sister, Joycelynn Nailon; his brother, Edward Nailon and his nephews DeShawn Pfeifer Sr. and Merlyn “Big Man” Davis.

Dallas’s homegoing services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10AM and the service will follow 11AM. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery and his family and friends will celebrate his life at “The Spot” following the burial.
