Richard Curtis Lunford of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life after a short stay at Memorial Hospital on November 26, 2023, at approximately 12:49 am. He was 63 years old. Richard "Kirk" was born on June 20, 1960, in Rosedale, Mississippi to Ann Lee Lunford and Willie Watson. Richard was the oldest of 14 children. Richard accepted our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 9 at Eastern Star MBC. In 1991, under the leadership of Pasto Booker West, Richard earned his Certificate of Ordination Deacon by St. Paul Bethel MBC. He earned Liberal Art Degree as well as Bachelor's Science Organization of Management. Richard worked at Bethel College as HVAC/maintenance for 12 years and 18 years for GEI Signature Group. On October 19, 1985, He was united in holy matrimony to Lola, and Richard enjoyed 38 wonderful years. In 1998, became members of St. Paul Bethel. Richard served as Missionary teaching and mentoring within prisons and work release Westville Prison, Christian fellowship and God Care Ministries.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Lola Lunford, South Bend, IN, his sons, Quincy (Amy) Lunford of Tustin, CA, LaMarcous Lunford of South Bend, IN, Rickyle (Kylee) Lunford of Fort Wayne, IN, and LaQuan Lunford of Atlanta, GA, sisters, Florence Farmer of Rosedale, MS, LaMel White, LaRee Fritsgerald and KC Watson of Dallas, TX, brothers, Kenny Lunford and Larry Fritsgerald of Rosedale MS, Ricky Farmer of Cleveland, MS, Curtis and Fraiser Farmer of St. Louis, MO, and Kerry Watson of FL, Dorthy Mae Lewis of Chicago, IL and Charles Lewis of Rosedale, MS.
His hobbies were not simply pastimes; they were extensions of his unyielding passion to uplift and inspire others. Richard's life was a testament to his faith, his love for his community, and his dedication to his family.
