Mrs. Doris Ann Lewis, 72, beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, who resided on South 30th Street, South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Indiana, following a sudden brain aneurysm.
Doris was born to the union of Davel and Dessie May Mobley (Marbley) on August 18, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Central High School in 1967. She was employed by South Bend Recreation Boys and Girls Club in the 1970s and early 1980s. Then she worked nursing for 42 years at Holy Cross and St. Joseph Hospital. She loved taking care of her grandkids, having fun with her family, cooking and she loved guns. LOL
Survivors left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Deneen Rachelle Lewis; one son, Delbert Allen (Carrie) Lewis Jr.; six grandsons: Stone, Denane Lavalle, Dorian Dyshawn, Bishop, Dezi Davall, and Delbert Allen; six granddaughters: Dorris Denise, Pandora Renee, Delia Ann, Deneen, Destiny Unique and Zariaha; 15 great-grandkids; seven sisters; five brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Missionary Dessie Marbley; father, Davel Mobley; husband, Delbert Allen Lewis Sr.; daughter, Dessie Lavelle Lewis; two brothers: Dennis and Garry Marbley; and three grandkids, Maybelle, Terrance, and Denisha.
