Ms. Edna Mae Walker 62, departed this earthly place to earn her heavenly wings on April 5, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones. Edna was born November 25, 1958, to the union of James Walker and Edna Wright-Vance in South Bend, Indiana.
She was a joy to everyone she met. Edna loved gardening, cooking, decorating her home, playing cards, playing dominions, dancing, and building puzzles. Edna also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Edna had the biggest heart in the world.
Ms. Edna leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Johnny “Tackie Mackie” Campbell; her daughter, Audrey Marie Campbell; Allen Walker who she liked to call her son-in-law; her grandchildren: Andrea (Cortez) Campbell, Aaron (Sabrina) Walker, Asianna Campbell, and Lakenya Kareyu. Blessed to be a great-grandmother of Aniyah Anderson Cortez Jr., Zacaria, Te’leayah, and Trevion. Siblings: Clara Ross, Sarah Walker, James Ross, Scott Washington, and Inez Humbles. Ms. Edna had a special relationship with her niece, Marketia Blane who lovingly called her “little booty”. The family would also have to acknowledge her cousin who was more like a sister that was there until the end, Neile Chew a.k.a. “Nellebell.” A whole host of nieces and nephews, other friends and family.
Ms. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, James Walker and Edna C. Wright-Vance; her son, Tyree Washington Jr.; sisters: Betty Wright, Lucille Vance, and Betty Walker; brothers: Oscar Walker and Lee Wright; and many other relatives.
