Elder Edward Logan Obituary

Edward C. Logan Jr. was born to Edward C. Logan Sr. and Rose Hensley-Logan on January 29, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. He attended elementary school in Cassopolis, Michigan, and later moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where he attended Pierre Moran Middle School. Edward graduated from Central High School and continued his education at Ivy Tech.

A devoted follower of God, Edward loved jazz music, his family, and his church, where he became an ordained elder under the leadership of his pastor and close friend, Pastor Jeremiah Matthews. He also enjoyed following the NBA and NFL and was fond of old Western movies. One of his favorite gospel groups was The Winans. Edward was passionate about completing yard work and took great joy in it.

On March 9, 2025, Edward C. Logan Jr. took his wings peacefully in his new home, surrounded by his family. Edward held various jobs in the Elkhart and Bristol areas, with his last position being at United Parcel Service (UPS), where he worked for nearly thirty years.

On October 23, 2007, he married Sandra Ann Graham, and their marriage lasted for 28 years until his passing. Edward is survived by Sandra and their four biological sons: Barry (Annette) Hines of Bristol, Indiana; Ryan (Sherry) Ware of Elkhart, Indiana; Dujuan Ware of Elkhart, IN; and Joshua Logan of South Bend, Indiana. He also leaves four biological daughters: Terrez (George) Ware-Bostic of Elkhart, Indiana; Terina Ware of Elkhart, Indiana; Tanya Smith of Houston, Texas; and Gretchen Logan-Shields of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Additionally, he is survived by four stepchildren: RoShonda Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; RoMesha Ellick of Columbia, South Carolina; Rochael (Rocky) Jackson of Elkhart, Indiana; and as well Juard Barnes of Elkhart, Indiana. Edward is also survived by his sister, Gretchen (Theron) Pride of Tampa, Florida, along with many nieces, nephews, special friends, co-workers, neighbors, and loved ones whose lives he touched. His parents and a brother, Donald Lightfoot, preceded him in death.
