Elder Jay Ganger Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Ganger, born on June 23, 1957, in Michigan City, IN, and called home on December 14, 2023.

Jay, an outgoing and extroverted man known for his unwavering faith and love for his community, was a devoted father, a loyal son and brother, an esteemed elder, and a creative soul who touched the lives of those around him with his compassionate heart. Jay dedicated his life to service, both in his professional career, his love for fashion design, and within his faith community. Jay's creative spirit led him to establish his own business, Royal Creations, where he combined his love for fashion design with his artistic abilities in drawing, painting, and sewing. His dedication and commitment were recognized when he was ordained as an elder at Grace Tabernacle Church in Mishawaka, IN. Jay was a faithful member of Apostolic House of Deliverance in South Bend, IN at the time of his passing.

Jay lived his life embodying the scripture from Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Jay's love and loyalty extended beyond his work and church community to his cherished family.

He took immense pride and joy in his two daughters, Shawynʼque (Donald) Shankin and Estella (Patrick Ngoie) Ganger, who survive him alongside his mother, Gloria Ganger, his former wife, Janice Tabb, his brothers, Dan (Betty) Ganger, Richard (Angie) Ganger, Rob (Andrea) Ganger, and his grandsons, Jadon and Isaiah Shankin. Jay was preceded in death by his father, John Ganger. Jay is also survived by his mother-in-Christ and siblings-in-Christ: Mary Emerson, Penny (Dan) Moore, Rita (Butch) Reed, and Dan McKinney as well as cherished family and friends at Christ Tabernacle Church in Cassopolis, MI. Jay's life was a testament to his resilient spirit, his faith and service to God, his loyalty to his loved ones, and his creative passion; he never met a stranger and he marched to the beat of his own drum. He will be remembered as a pillar in his community, and as a man who lived his life with grace, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and God.

We encourage you to share your memories and photos of Jay on his memorial page. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
