Elnazy B. White

Elnazy Barbara (Hernton) White, 69, of Buckskin Lane, South Bend, Indiana, passed away Sunday May 3, 2020 at Cardinal Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Indiana.

Elnazy was born January 1, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles and Mattie Lee (Nichols) Hernton, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1968 then attended Mildred Green Beauty School. Her work history included Signature Inn five years and Ironwood Rehabilitation two years in the housekeeping department. In 1968 she married in Chicago, Illinois, Darrell White who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darrell C. White Jr.; and three brothers: Nathaniel Hughes, Jerry C. Hernton and Andre Hernton.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; six sisters: Willie-Rine Nalls, Ora Jean (Willie) Meeks, Denise Hernton Henry and Darlene (Ivan) Walker, all of Chicago, Illinois, Ernestine Hernton of South Bend, Indiana, Lavan Hernton of Fayetteville, Arkansas/; a daughter in law, Dana White of Sommerville, Tennessee; along with a host of nieces and nephews; a niece, Ronetta Hernton; and a great niece, Cierra R. Jones, both of South Bend, Indiana, who cared for her.
