Mrs. Elsie Lee Davenport-Love, 85, was born August 24, 1939, in Cincinnati, OH, to the union of the late William Nash II and Clara B. (Moore) Nash. She was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie attended Lockland Wayne High School and graduated in 1957. She had a heart to serve and care for others. She had over 40 years of service as a Med Tech/CNA. In her later years, she gave her life to Christ and was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ. Her dedication to her work and Christ was only surpassed by her love for singing and cooking. Elsie's kitchen was a place of joy, where she created culinary magic that delighted the senses, just as her singing warmed the hearts of those who listened. Her cooking and singing sessions were much more than hobbies; they were the essence of Elsie, a celebration of life, love, and happiness.
Elsie leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Judy (Jahmal) Allen of South Bend, IN, Shamika Love of Edwardsburg, MI, two sons, John Davenport and Leland Davenport, both of South Bend, IN, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to "Allen" for his love, care, support and for always answering her calls and assisting in whatever was needed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Love, a son, Marvin Davenport, a daughter, Teresa Davenport, siblings, Bonnie Munlin, Gilbert Nash, Henry Nash, William Nash III and niece Patricia Munlin.
Homegoing celebration will take place at 11 am on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment immediately following service at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where bereavement messages may be sent to alfordsmortuary@att.net, c/o the Love family.
