George Hunt

We are gathered here to pay tribute to a remarkable man, George Hunt, who warmed our hearts, filled our lives with joy, and left an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born in Chicago, IL, on September 10, 1967, George was a beacon of light and laughter, a man who knew how to live life to its fullest. 

The very essence of George, is that he found joy in every moment and shared that joy with everyone around him. George was a dedicated executive sales representative in the radio advertising industry, and his professional accomplishments speak volumes about his character. However, it was his personal passions that truly defined him. Whether he was playing basketball, fishing, or showcasing his skills on the dance floor, George was always the life of the party. His love for playing cards, his contribution to the community of South Bend, IN, and his infectious laughter will forever be remembered. As we reflect on George's life, let us remember the old proverb, "A cheerful heart is good medicine." George leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. 

He is survived by his beloved son, George (Shastina) Jr.; his grandsons, Gemari , Grant, and Gavin Hunt; his mother, Eva Hunt; his siblings, Lynita (Anthony) Sterling, Kenya Henderson, Areva (Michael) Powell, Maurice Rhone-Hunt, LaToya (John) Parhm, Victor Hunt, Catrina Hunt, Evelena Hunt, and Felicia Hunt; and his grandmother, Doris Huddleston. He also leaves behind a special longtime friend, Randy Whitehead. George is also survived by many other family and friends who will miss him very much. 

Preceded in death by his father, George Jr., his brother, Catrell Hunt, and his grandparents George Sr., Evelyn Hunt, Clear Huddleston Sr., Frank Mints, two uncles, Walter Mints and Clair (Bullet) Huddleston. 

 A memorial service will be held at Alford's Mortuary, 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, 46601, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm EDT. As we celebrate George's life, we encourage everyone to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Let us remember him not with sadness, but with the joy and laughter he brought into our lives for there is "a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance." Today, let's remember George with smiles on our faces and laughter in our hearts, just as he would have wanted.
