May 16, 1952–April 23, 2023, South Bend, the Lord has called upon his angel to come home.
Our dearly beloved Harry Edward Reid Harry was born in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Harry Reid and Adelle Reid. Harry has five children: Harry Reid Jr. (Velda), Lamandous Reid (Amanda), Cedric Acker, Eartha Adelle Reid, and Jacquelyn Morris. And a bonus son, Demetrice Logan (Selena), and a bonus daughter, Tamara Keys, that was formed from a bond with Gwendolyn Washington Keys. Everyone who knew this incredible man knew Harry was not only a relative, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a friend; they knew he was a phenomenal man beyond any limit. He fought his hardest to help anyone who needed it, and he was not one to hold back on anything. He was and will still be loved unconditionally, and he will be missed so deeply. Harry has marked many hearts with love that can't be described.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adell Frye and Harry Reid, three sisters. Francine Long, Daisy Neal, and Marsha Settles, six brothers, Erskine Reid Sr., Rodney Frye, and Roberta Frye Michael Settles, Roy Neal, Arnold Settles, and his wife, Shirley Acker-Reid.
Harry leaves behind, to cherish his memory, six sisters. Lavon Hardin, Anita Paige (Robert), Vickie Reid (Ron), Julie Harris (Robert), Kyndra Reid, and eight brothers: Tyrone Reid, Thomas Frye (Mae), Timothy Frye (Ericka), Robert Frye, Brian Frye, and Steven Frye (Ashuntas). Rupert Neal, O.P. (Barbara) Neal and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and a very special friend Denise McGee "Rest, dear Father, rest." We love you. When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came, called my name, and took me by the hand. The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly loved. But when I walked through Heaven's Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me, "Welcome Home." So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
